“You don’t seem like a lawyer…”
Lawyers have a pretty bad reputation. The stereotype paints us as superior, hard-nosed, argumentative, unapproachable and, of course, expensive…
I’m on a mission to change that reputation. Because yes, I am driven, determined and committed to seeing justice done. But I’m also a real person like you – a mum, a friend, a business owner.
And I’m passionate about helping small businesses succeed by providing them with cost-effective expert legal advice, support and representation. For me it’s all about working closely with my clients and building relationships. That’s why I chose to be a direct access barrister.
What is a direct access barrister?
You could access a barrister via a solicitor. Your solicitor would work with you – usually via phone or email – to prepare your case and then brief the barrister to act on your behalf.
With a direct access barrister you cut out the middleman and get a more personalised service. This means you might have to do a little of the legwork yourself – things like filing and serving documents, all under my supervision and guidance – but you gain a big cost saving. I can charge by the hour, day or project depending on what works best for your situation.
